Critical Role Campaign 4 Unveils the Warriors Party

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the urban setting.

Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to begin their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.

This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.

At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might look mismatched, but the actions of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise started the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.

The traitor then cleared his obligations and fled to a secure base in the remote area, north of the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous location.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • But, their position as important members in the influential clan could enable the party access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
  • The warrior and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.

This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in quest for the antagonist.

What’s Next?

According to episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Explorers and Schemers groups.

Fans can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, streaming live on next week.
